At INNOVA Longarm Quilting Systems, we believe every stitch tells a story. This year, we asked our INNOVA family to come together in a powerful way to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of America's veterans. Through our INNOVA Community Quilt for Quilts of Valor project, quilters from across the country contributed handmade blocks—each infused with love, gratitude, and personal meaning.

From patriotic stars to intricate patterns of red, white, and blue, every block carries its own inspiration. Many quilters also shared touching stories alongside their work, describing the family members, friends, and loved ones who served our country. These heartfelt messages remind us why quilting is more than craft—it's connection, memory, and tribute.

We are thrilled to share a gallery of these quilt blocks and the moving stories behind them. Together, they represent not just fabric and thread, but a community united in honoring our veterans.

"I've always wanted to participate in a Quilts of Valor project. I love to decorate my home in patriotic colors. It was a great opportunity to participate in this as an INNOVA owner. Also, a great follow up to having a quilt displayed last year for the 50th anniversary QuiltFest in the red, white & blue display." Irene Hendrickson - Brenham, TX
"I made this block in honor of my son, PFC Travis Schlueter, who died during the Iraqu War in 2007. He is my shining star!" Kelli Schlueter - San Antonio, TX
"I am a military spouse and a daughter of a veteran. The QOV program is one I love supporting because seeing the faces of veterans who get their quilts (like my dad) just brings a tear to my eye and makes me remember the good in the world. We need more of that these days." Jennifer McWhirt - Schertz, TX
"In honor of my father who served in the Korean Conflict. My father served as an AP in the USAF, His partner was a German Shepherd named King. To honor them and all the armed forces." Jackie Ledford - San Antonio, TX
"My grandpa Floyd and my husband's grandpa Benavides met at our wedding sitting at the same table. Grandpa Benavides was discussing his time in WWII. He was on the USS Zellars DD-777 which supported amphibious assaults. My Grandpa Floyd who was in the Army looked up and said, "I wish you guys were shelling a bit higher. I was on that island." They spent the rest of the night talking like they had been friends forever. Neither Grandpa ever talked about their service time. We do know that Grandpa Benavides ship lost 29 sailors and 37 wounded due to a Kamikaze strike." Katie Benavides - Bulverdee, TX
"Log Cabin block represents home to me. Love & Home. We have a very active military family; WW2, Korean Conflict, Vietnam, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm with many honors and a loss also." Lori Lawler - Bayou Vista, TX
"Thank you for your service. You kept us safe and secure. Your service to our country is deeply appreciated." Sheri Marshall - Eddyville, KY
"My nephew served in the Navy :) My father in law is a korean war veteran :) I had lots of patriotic fabric so I just had fun doing a bunch of different pieced blocks. It allowed me to practice techniques I havent done in a while." Daria Bernard - Newark, DE
"Honoring my son, Jason, who loved his family and country. Srved 2000-2006. In our hearts forever. (1979-2017)" Michaeline Florek - Crown Point, IN
"My husband served 42 years in the US Army as an Apache Aviator. This block made me think of the rotor blades on his helicopter. The red stars appear where the "rotor wash" would occur when the blades are spinning. The dark blue are the propellers and the bubble fabric is the air rising to lift the helicopter." Estela Steele - Meridianville, AL
"A month from now I will be 79 years old and I think these red and blue fabrics are from the late 1970's when I first learned to quilt." Mona Offenbecher - Madison, AL
"I was a nurse in the Airforce and then I worked for the Department of the Army as a nurse. All our troops need medcial care. I chose to put the Universal symbol for the hosptial in the center of my block. Taking care of the troops was my passion." Julie Phaneuf - Universal City, TX
"Created to honor family members who have served. Steven G. Hoxworth, USAF; Thomas G. Hoxworth, USAF; Thomas G. Bresch, U.S. Army; William T. Bresch, II, USMC; Kyle S. Musselman, USMC; Glenn Hoxworth, USAF" Kathy Hoxworth - Cibolo, TX

Continuing the Journey

We are so inspired by the incredible blocks our INNOVA family has shared, and this beautiful gallery is just the beginning. Next, we will be joining these blocks together to create our INNOVA Community Quilt, which will be quilted live at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas. We'd love for you to stop by and see our community quilt come to life in person - or follow along with us on Facebook and Instagram.

A heartfelt thank you to every quilter who contributed a block to this year's project - your creativity and generosity make this community truly special.
